When did you work at Finca? And what was/were your position(s)?

“2015-2017 started as an apprentice and then moved to assistant manager”

What are you doing now?

“Running my own veggie and flower farm on Whidbey Island in WA state. Just wrapping up year two. Foggy Hill Farm:)”

A special memory/favorite event you have from the farm?

“Sharing meals together under the Oak trees, especially breakfast tacos! I have so many. This is so hard! I maybe have more I can share in person haha”

What is something you learned while farming at Finca that you have taken with you even after you left?

“Be patient, good things take time. Keep trying different things until something sticks. I really feel like I gained a lot of grit and scrappiness from Dan and Tom. Watching how hard they worked at their dream really pushes me in my current farm dream now. Even when they were so frustrated or falling asleep at the lunch table they kept pushing forward. Some days were very hard for them and I can really understand as a farm owner now. Makes me so proud to see their hard work pay off.”

What are you most proud of about your time at Finca?

“So many things… Helping add more infrastructure and helping design systems for the years to come. Trying to bring joy and care to a challenging time when they had just started out.”
