Meet Farmer Alyssa

What made you want to volunteer at Finca Tres Robles?

I love the Earth and helping others! I had recently started growing my own food and wanted to learn more and serve my community in this way. I found Finca was in my neighborhood, I knew I wanted to volunteer here. Farming has a deep meaning and impact in my life. Everyone deserves access to fresh local organic food. I am very grateful to be a part of this access and serve others in this way.”

What would you say is the most fulfilling aspect?

“Everything here is so fulfilling. I am so grateful for every moment on the farm. Every time I’m here I am reminded that there is healing in this food. I love being outside, connected with the plants. I give thanks to Earth’s beauty and abundance that is this farm.”

What does community mean to you?

“Community means so much to me. I found myself in the community. It is the love and impact that happens when we come together to support each other.  Here at Finca, the food is healing, the people are healing, and the earth is healing. That is the beauty of community!”

What do you like to do when you’re not at the farm?

“When I’m not at the farm I like to walk/hike, bike, garden, cook, do tai chi/yoga. I like to make art and music with my partner, our page is @oldgrowth.within! I also work at a local organic tea shop called The Path of Tea @thepathoftea! Check us out if you’d like!”

What’s your favorite Finca produce?

“Everything is my favorite! Everything is so delicious and fresh! I feel so good after eating anything and everything grown here. If I had to choose, I love the carrots :)”
