Last Friday parents of preschoolers at Ninfa Laurenzo Early Childhood Center joined us for a healthy cooking class on the farm using fresh cherry tomatoes and perpetual spinach. While we focused on health eating, it was also an opportunity to socialize and share a fun morning together to build stronger relationships, an important aspect of community health. A few of our young visitors were also able to enjoy the morning playing in the dirt, something we farmers can certainly appreciate.

This has been one of several classes that the Houston Food Bank has helped us offer free of charge to these neighborhood parents. We want the farm to be a resource for those that live and work close by and are continually working to find new ways to make the farm a valuable space for our community.
