We recently hosted 50 students from Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men for a full day excursion to the farm. The students from this all boys academy spent the day getting their hands dirty prepping beds for planting and doing work in the greenhouse to get things organized for our next seeding. Together we harvested fresh from the fields and cooked up lunch for everyone to share.
It was a chance to get out of the classroom and experience, engage, and interact with the world in a new way. We’re grateful to have the opportunity to provide a new perspective for these young men and see bright futures ahead for them.
