This is a truly unique opportunity to learn the farming trade and serves as a pathway for young Houstonians to gain expertise necessary to manage a production farm. You will gain skills and knowledge in farming equipment, seasonal harvesting, crop planning, and produce sales.
This is a full-time, entry-level position for anyone seriously interested in pursuing a career in farming. We will prioritize applications from people who live in or come from our neighborhood (zip codes 77011, 77012, 77023, & 77003), and encourage people who don’t see themselves represented or celebrated in dominant narratives about food and farming to apply.
A career in farming offers opportunities for self-expression, lifelong learning, a strong sense of purpose, and a deep connection to the living world.
The Apprenticeship goes beyond just daily work on the farm. We work hard to ensure the Program contains a diverse range of experiences and opportunities that provide a broad understanding of what goes into starting, operating, and maintaining a well-run farm.
In addition to farming, you can expect to help with community outreach events, educational programs, farm tours, and other activities to support our non-profit mission.
Participants will also spend a month working on another local farm in an Externship position while connecting with other local farmers to support future work opportunities in agriculture in the Houston area.

Support field trips, classes, and other activities to educate our community.

Get experience on another farm and support the broader farming community
