NOTES FROM THE FIELD

Hello CSA friends,

My name is Brandon and I’m the farm manager here at Finca! Farming is a craft I truly enjoy, but it is merely a necessary step in pursuit of what really brings me joy which is FEEDING PEOPLE! Having the opportunity to feed you via our CSA program is a responsibility I, as well as our entire team, consider a great privilege.

Knowing where our food comes from is such an important step in cooking we’ve seem to have gotten away from over the years, and your choice to know has created an opportunity for you to cook and eat some of the healthiest, nutrient-dense food.

As you may know, we had the opportunity to celebrate a year’s worth growing earlier this month. We were recently presented with another opportunity to grow, which culminated this past weekend. We had the pleasure of hosting Joshua Wilson’s “Roots to Residence Eagle Scout Project,” in which Joshua was tasked with figuring out how to make a major improvement to his community right here in the East End. When he presented Finca with his idea of building a pathway from our neighbors at the apartments next door (Hartwood at Canal), we were eager to get to work with him to help make the farm more accessible!

Let us all extend our gratitude to Joshua Wilson for leading his team to the completion of his service project because we are now the proud owners of a BRAND NEW PATHWAY!

All the work we do, we do for the benefit of the community. You inspire me. You are our priority. You are our family.

Now don’t be shy! Send us pics of all those lovely delicious plates and meals y’all are preparing with the good food you’re getting from the farm!

See you in the fields,

Brandon
