The farm is earmarking a percentage of our produce this upcoming Spring to go to up to twenty (20) families at Ninfa Laurenzo Early Childhood Center and we are looking for Community Sponsors to provide these shares free of charge. Finca Tres Robles was founded and built with the purpose of being a positive resource for our community. We are fully committed to ensuring that our produce remains here the neighborhood and are continuing to work to find ways to better serve our neighbors.
Located less than 1/2 a mile from the farm, Ninfa Laurenzo Early Childhood Center offers a full day Pre-Kindergarten program to children in the area and last year sent students by for a field trip. Having taken the initiative to start a garden at the school, we felt we could help expand on the great work that the school has been doing to improve the health opportunities available to their children and families. With just a relatively small contribution, you can have an impact on deserving East End families.
Through the Houston Food Bank, these parents will also be able to attend free healthy cooking and nutrition classes on the farm throughout the season to help parents navigate ways to use the seasonal produce, some of which may be unfamiliar to them. We hope that through this partnership we can help the youngest in our community form healthy habits that will positively impact their lives for many years to come.
