We had a great time last weekend with a group from Breakthrough Houston who volunteered their morning to help us conquer a few projects on the farm. They helped us pull out beans past their prime, pull weeds taking over our beds and fence, and cleaning pots that will be used in our next seeding.
Breakthrough Houston‘s mission is to prepare students who possess high academic potential, but limited educational resources. Each year they recruit and train aspiring teachers to work with underserved kids in their Summer Program. These college and high school students came from all over the United States and we had a fun day working alongside these talented young people preparing to make impacts in communities all over our country.
