NOTES FROM THE FIELD
Hello CSA friends,
My name is Laila, and I’m the person behind many of the words, photos, and stories you see from the farm. I work on communications here, which means I have the joyful job of noticing things. I notice what’s growing, what’s changing, what our team is learning, and how all of that connects back to you each week when you open your CSA.
Wednesday is Earth Day, which we’re holding this week not as a celebration so much as a reminder: everything we eat, grow, and share is part of a larger living system we’re responsible to care for together. You support this farm. This farm tends the soil. The soil feeds us all. A small, local ecosystem that fits right inside a cardboard box.
As you unpack this week’s share, we hope you feel a little extra gratitude for the land, the hands that harvested it, and your own kitchen that will turn these ingredients into something delicious!
We would love to celebrate together in person, too. Join us this Saturday evening (6-8pm) for our Earth Day Spring Potluck at the farm. Bring a dish to share, a friend, and your appetite for good food and good company. We’ll be under the pavilion, rain or shine, enjoying the beauty of this special place.
And I have a request for you. We would love to see what happens after your CSA box leaves the farm. If you have a favorite recipe you’ve made, or photos of meals you’ve created with your share, please send them our way! Your plates are the final chapter of this story, and we would be thrilled to share them with our community.
