The farm is meant to be a community space that uses food to bring people together to share in arts, culture, music and more. We have been working to make the farm a space that can host a diverse range of events that bring various communities and organizations together.
We were excited to host Lectura en Voz Alta, a potluck and poetry reading entirely in Spanish on the farm in conjunction with the University of Houston Spanish Creative Writing PhD Program. Students and other local writers presented their Spanish works and attendees brought a dish to share and ears to listen to the beautiful poetry during a peaceful evening.
Thank you to Gene Jezabel for organizing this unique event, the students in the University of Houston Spanish Creative Writing PhDprogram for coming out to La Finca to share their works, and the community members who joined us for the evening, bringing food and coming to listen to these talented writers.
