Hello CSA friends,<\/span><\/p>\n

My name is Brandon and I’m the farm manager here at Finca! Farming is a craft I truly enjoy, but it is merely a necessary step in pursuit of what really brings me joy which is FEEDING PEOPLE! Having the opportunity to feed you via our CSA program is a responsibility I, as well as our entire team, consider a great privilege.<\/span><\/p>\n

Knowing where our food comes from is such an important step in cooking we’ve seem to have gotten away from over the years, and your choice to know has created an opportunity for you to cook and eat some of the healthiest, nutrient-dense food.<\/span><\/p>\n

As you may know, we had the opportunity to celebrate a year’s worth growing earlier this month. We were recently presented with another opportunity to grow, which culminated this past weekend. We had the pleasure of hosting Joshua Wilson’s “Roots to Residence Eagle Scout Project,” in which Joshua was tasked with figuring out how to make a major improvement to his community right here in the East End. When he presented Finca with his idea of building a pathway from our neighbors at the apartments next door (Hartwood at Canal), we were eager to get to work with him to help make the farm more accessible!<\/span><\/p>\n

Let us all extend our gratitude to Joshua Wilson for leading his team to the completion of his service project because we are now the proud owners of a BRAND NEW PATHWAY!<\/span><\/p>\n

All the work we do, we do for the benefit of the community. You inspire me. You are our priority. You are our family.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hello CSA friends,<\/span><\/p>\n

My name is Laila, and I\u2019m the person behind many of the words, photos, and stories you see from the farm. I work on communications here, which means I have the joyful job of noticing things. I notice what\u2019s growing, what\u2019s changing, what our team is learning, and how all of that connects back to you each week when you open your CSA.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wednesday is Earth Day, which we\u2019re holding this week not as a celebration so much as a reminder: everything we eat, grow, and share is part of a larger living system we\u2019re responsible to care for together. You support this farm. This farm tends the soil. The soil feeds us all. A small, local ecosystem that fits right inside a cardboard box.<\/span><\/p>\n

As you unpack this week\u2019s share, we hope you feel a little extra gratitude for the land, the hands that harvested it, and your own kitchen that will turn these ingredients into something delicious!<\/span><\/p>\n

We would love to celebrate together in person, too. Join us this Saturday evening (6-8pm) for our <\/span>Earth Day Spring Potluck<\/span><\/i> at the farm. Bring a dish to share, a friend, and your appetite for good food and good company. We\u2019ll be under the pavilion, rain or shine, enjoying the beauty of this special place.<\/span><\/p>\n

And I have a request for you. We would love to see what happens after your CSA box leaves the farm. If you have a favorite recipe you\u2019ve made, or photos of meals you\u2019ve created with your share, please send them our way! Your plates are the final chapter of this story, and we would be thrilled to share them with our community.<\/span><\/p>\n
