Tuve una peque\u00f1a muestra de la rutina de tantos indocumentados que llegan a nuestras fronteras. Personas que pude reconocer de mi \u00e9poca en los barrios y fincas de Nicaragua, pueblos de El Salvador y en restaurantes y barrios aqu\u00ed en Houston. Mis amigos. Las Violeta, los H\u00e9ctor y Lydias y su hija Ana, las Sof\u00edas y Hermindas, los Ramones y Don David. Personas que me han ense\u00f1ado a hablar espa\u00f1ol, a cocinar, a plantar semillas, a comprender los lenguajes tranquilos tanto de las personas como de las plantas, a defenderme, a doblar barras de refuerzo y a hacer cortes en \u00e1ngulo y, realmente, a poner en perspectiva. los privilegios y responsabilidades de lo que significa ser ciudadano versus no tener papeles, la casualidad de nacer en un lugar versus otro.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-rte-preserve-empty=\"true\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Si no lo sab\u00edas, la granja impregna mucho de lo que he aprendido de estos amigos y sigo aprendiendo de aquellos que todav\u00eda est\u00e1n en mi vida.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"block-animation-none\">\n<blockquote data-animation-role=\"quote\" \n<p>   ><br \/>\n    <span>&#8220;<\/span>Brene Brown escribe que en el mundo actual existe la necesidad de acercarse a la gente; porque es mucho m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil odiar de cerca. En esencia, hay mucha verdad en esto; que cuando te acercas tanto a alguien puedes reconocer y sentir su humanidad y sus luchas, la relaci\u00f3n no puede dejar de cambiar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Para m\u00ed, es dif\u00edcil observar desde lejos lo que sucede a lo largo de la frontera y no sentir la necesidad de hacer m\u00e1s, olvidando que todav\u00eda hay mucho por hacer a solo unas cuadras de nuestra granja. Nos desorientamos con las noticias que nos bombardean todos los d\u00edas de que la inmigraci\u00f3n es un tema fronterizo.\u00a0<span>&#8221;<\/span>\n  <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<div class=\"sqs-html-content\">\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Pensar que el problema es que hay una gran simplificaci\u00f3n de la grave situaci\u00f3n que se ha creado para tantas personas en ambos lados de la frontera y no s\u00f3lo para los indocumentados. Ambos lados de la divisi\u00f3n pol\u00edtica podr\u00edan beneficiarse si dieran algunos pasos para acercarse entre s\u00ed.
