WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO JOIN THE FINCA TRES ROBLES TEAM?\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The food inequity in this area is frustrating to me. I started volunteering soon after the farm\u2019s groundbreaking where I learned that the population in the zip codes served by Finca Tres Robles tend to live 15 years less than the rest of Harris county, in part due to lack of healthy food options in the area. Growing up in 77012, I wanted to help alleviate this gap, so I got involved with Salsa de Mayo. That led to getting to know the team and some other people in the community which are lovely and supportive in such a refreshing way. Approximately a year later there was an opening that called to me with the opportunity to further along the farm\u2019s mission. That is what I want to do, and to get to do it with a supportive team, eager to help one another\u2026it\u2019s the cherry on top.<\/span><\/p>\n

WHAT DOES COMMUNITY MEAN TO YOU?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Ideally it\u2019s a safe and happy haven\u2026it\u2019s where you can have fun, grow, learn and help your fellow neighbor. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU\u2019RE NOT WORKING?<\/span><\/h3>\n

There are too many things, but I will share three:<\/span><\/p>\n

1. My favorite thing to do is travel. I tend to go where there is water most of the time, because I was a mermaid in a past life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Spending time with family and friends is a must. I\u2019m incredibly blessed with the people that surround me. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. Eating yummy food would be the third thing I like to do. The range is vast and wide from all cuisines to veggies and desserts. Give me all the ice cream!<\/span><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
