Our fourth annual Salsa de Mayo Festival<\/strong> brings us together during the start of the tomato harvest to share in the bounty of the season and honor the history, culture, and traditions that are infused in the salsas right from our neighborhood.<\/p>\n

At the Harvest Dinner<\/strong>, a local chef transforms ingredients grown on our farm into a shared, farm-to-table meal \u2014 an invitation to gather with neighbors and enjoy food grown by and for our community!<\/p>\n

Every month for the first four years of Finca Tres Robles\u2019 founding, people would drop by the farm asking for fresh tomatoes, including on cold days in the months of January and February. We realized that most Houstonians know very little about our local seasons and unique climate and what vegetables are available when.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n

It even took us a few years to really begin to understand that November through February can be great months to grow vegetables, and unlike the rest of the country, we prefer to take off June to August because of the \u201cinferno\u201d season, a season of extreme heat that most of the rest of the country doesn\u2019t experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salsa de Mayo is a celebration of what makes Houston, our climate and our community such a unique place and is the beginning of a new annual gathering in our East End community. We can\u2019t wait to get together with our neighbors to share the flavors of our neighborhood and the farm and we hope you\u2019ll join us. <\/span><\/p>\n
