Hands-On Farm Experience<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This is a truly unique opportunity to learn the farming trade and serves as a pathway for young Houstonians to gain expertise necesary to manage a production farm.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a full time, entry level position for anyone seriously interested in pursuing a career in farming.\u00a0 We will prioritize\u00a0 applications from people who live in or come from our neighborhood (zip codes 77011, 77012, 77023, & 77003), and encourage people who don\u2019t see themselves represented or celebrated in dominant narratives about food and farming to apply.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unique Opportunities<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Apprenticeship goes beyond just daily work on the farm. We work hard to ensure the Program contains a diverse range of experiences and opportunities that provide a broad understanding of what goes into starting, operating, and maintaining a well-run farm.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to farming, you can expect to help with community outreach events, educational programs, farm tours, and other activities to support our non-profit mission.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants will also spend a month working on another local farm in an Externship position while connecting with other local farmers to support future work opportunities in agriculture in the Houston area. <\/span><\/p>\n
