Impress your friends and family with irresistible salsas. You will learn the basics of salsa composition in this interactive class. Learn how different chiles (both fresh & dried) can impact the flavor and texture of your salsa. Work with a team to chop, roast, blend, and garnish your own salsa. Test out your creation on two tasty tacos provided at the end of class. Enough salsa will be made for each guest to take home 8.0 oz.<\/p>\n

Instructor:<\/strong> Chef Cesar Cano\u00a0 is a culinary graduate, retired line cook, former high school teacher, reluctant writer, and current Director of Culinary Instruction at PX Project. He was a finalist on Gordon Ramsay\u2019s cooking competition MasterChef in 2018.<\/p>\n

Grow your own flavorful, healthy, fresh herbs. If you've heard it's hard to grow herbs in Houston, you're not listening to the right people! There are challenges to growing herbs in the humid Gulf Coast area, but these challenges can easily be met with the right information.<\/p>

Herbs can be grown in the ground or in containers, even hanging baskets. We'll talk about soil, fertilizer and how much sun to give your herbs. Learn which herbs to grow in each season and which ones grow all year long.<\/p>

What would growing herbs be without using them in the kitchen? We'll talk about how to harvest your herbs for maximum health of the plants.<\/p>

As an added bonus, each participant will be able to plant up a container with 3 herbs of their choosing to take home and enjoy.<\/p>

Instructor:<\/strong> Cindy Meredith<\/em> is the owner of The Herb Cottage, a rural nursery and herb business near Hallettsville in Lavaca County, Texas. In business since 1998, Cindy has a wide range of knowledge about gardening and herbs. Her favorite topics include growing herbs, using herbs in the kitchen and for everyday wellness.<\/p>
